In Uganda, a former employee of the national identification authority has been jailed until May 18, 2026, for the illegal disclosure and unauthorized processing of personal data. Authorities accuse him of exploiting his access to internal systems to extract and transmit confidential information to unauthorized third parties, including networks involved in illicit activities such as human trafficking.
